On Monday, officer James Givens of Ohio, as always, patrolled the Park area when the goose approached him — and not just out of curiosity: the bird clearly wanted something. Givens said that goose came up and started banging beak on the door of the patrol car. The policeman threw her some food, but the bird didn’t even touch her.
She looked at the officer, beat her beak and quacked, and then he decided to get out of the car. Goose immediately went forward, and the bewildered policeman didn’t have to follow her across the grass to the pond. It was there that he saw what the bird so persistently sought the attention of one of her Chicks was entangled in a rope from the balloon and could not free himself.
