Elephant Swept Miles Out To Sea Dramatically Rescued By Navy

Elephant rescue occurred near the coast of Kokkilai, Sri Lanka. The sea animal is barely noticed, but outfitted in saving two vessels. The rescue operation lasted more than 12 hours in the open ocean.

The publication notes that the animal drifted too far from sea currents and that a patrol spotted the animal – it’s a miracle. To rescue eared sent two ships – the Department of wildlife officers and the Sri Lankan Navy. To bring the poor elephant back to shore, the drivers put ropes on him and towed him to the shore where he was eventually released.
