Skeptics, perhaps, will say, that here they see only art of special training. But there are irrefutable facts proving that monkeys have a highly developed intellect. And the words they use is not mechanical. Specialists have long tried to teach monkeys to talk.
We started with the smartest, in their opinion, species — chimpanzees and orangutans. One year it took to realize that monkeys can’t pronounce the words, they only know how to scream.
Then in the early 60s in the United States, Professor Allen Gardner of Nevada University tried to teach chimpanzees the language used by deaf people. This experience proved quite successful.
