This is one quite unusual story about a dog, named Eclipse, who’s already a celebrity in her home city of Seattle, especially among the passengers of the D line. Daily commuters are already used to seeing the unaccompanied dog riding alone on the bus, but imagine a surprise if it’s your first time. Quite unexpected, right?
This black Labrador and Mastiff mix uses public transport daily and gets off at the Belltown dog park. The first time that happened her owner Jeff Young was taking too long to finish his cigarette, so when the bus arrived, she got on it alone and went to the park.
In time Eclipse even got her own bus pass she carries attached to her collar. She is very polite and causes no mess and the passengers simply adore her.
If you ride a D line bus in Seattle, you can meet this unexpected furry passenger named Eclipse…
“All the bus drivers know her. She sits here just like a person does”
King County allows dogs on public transport at the discretion of a driver, and Eclipse makes people smile
