A shy, 12-year-old schoolgirl from Cheshire, England just launched TV competition “Britain’s Got Talent” into a new dimension for the show’s tenth season. Beau Dermott’s big, bold performance of “Defying Gravity” from the musical “Wicked” is defying expectations in a way many say hasn’t been achieved since the debut of Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle.
“Everyone else may as well go home now – we have a winner,” judge David Williams said. But it was judge Amanda Holden who fast-tracked the young singer by hitting the “golden buzzer.” The buzzer can be used by each judge only once per season to automatically send a contestant straight to the live semi-final round.
