Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers performed their very last duet together this week. It was a very different scene to how the longtime friends and collaborators used to perform together. On Wednesday night, it was an emotional night for both Dolly and Kenny who’s retiring from his music career.

The two friends took the stage for their last performance ever. They also shared stories about their decades-long friendship. Not only did Dolly perform their 1983 hit “Islands in the Stream,” but she also sang their heartbreaking ballad “I Will Always Love You.” Kenny was overcome with emotion as Dolly sang that very song to him.

Wednesday night’s concert was the first time in 12 years that Parton and Rogers performed together in public. It also marked the last time that fans will see the country music legends perform together. Rogers is entering retirement, which is a claim he’s sticking to. He says he wants to spend time with his wife and children.

This video is definitely worth watching and then watching it over and over. It will take just a few minutes and you won’t regret the time spent on it.
