During this holiday season, it’s important to take a little bit of time to think of those who won’t be able to spend time with their own families. This can be because of a variety of reasons, but one of those is having a parent who is deployed in the military.
This situation is difficult, of course, for the person who is deployed. They are far away from their families, possibly overseas. They may be spending Christmas or the holidays in a dangerous situation. They are most certainly missing their families back home.
It’s also hard for those who are at home, especially the children. As adults, we understand that if our loved one is deployed, they are doing everything they can to keep all of us safe. We miss them, but we appreciate their sacrifice, even if that means that there is an empty spot at the dinner table.
