She is so amazing! And shes just only 7 years old! When she grow up, her voice will develop more! I’ve listen to this song about 20 times today alone….this song puts tears in my eyes but its so good to remember.
This video showcases the amazing rendition of ‘Blue Christmas’ by Rhema Marvanna, an adorable 7 year old girl. She has a soulful voice which is really touching.
Unfortunately, Rhema lost her mom when she was a young girl. This song was recorded in memory of her mom, Wendi, who has always been her inspiration. Her mom would certainly have been proud of her!
In November 2008, 5-year-old Rhema Marvanne lost her mother, Wendi, to ovarian cancer. Two years later, at the humble age of seven, Rhema recorded «Blue Christmas.» It was Wendi’s favorite Christmas song.
Though the video above was originally uploaded in 2010, it recently resurfaced on social media, proving Rhema’s rendition of the classic Christmas number is truly timeless.
Not only does the little songstress have an angelic voice, but she also has a heart of gold. Rhema told the Fort Hood Sentinel in 2010, «When I sing, it makes me think of my mother, which makes me happy. I want to take my gift and share with those who are still sad and try to make them happy again.»
Since her rise to YouTube fame, Rhema decided her mission was to help others overcome times of difficulty. When she wasn’t singing to help raise money for cancer centers, she was performing gospel at various churches and conventions. She also has three albums, the latest released in 2010.
Rhema does her best to celebrate Christmas, all the while thinking of her mom, so she prepared a plate of cookies and milk ready for Santa, has the Christmas tree fully decked-out, and set up the bright lights to illuminate the dim house. But nothing quite helps celebrate the thought of her mom better than her mom’s favorite song, so «Blue Christmas» was Rhema’s favorite part about the season.
She adds so much beauty and expression to the song. Watch her big, brown eyes and her adorable smile as she sings. Through the pain of losing her mom, she finds joy, and is an inspiration to us all with her soulful voice. She does a fabulous job of honoring her mom with this song, and her mom would be so proud.
