You may not have heard of the metal band All That Remains, but if you listen to country music, then I guarantee you’ll be familiar with their newest music video.
The video is a cover of Garth Brooks’ 1991 hit single “The Thunder Rolls“, and even to non-metal heads, it’s surprisingly good.
Until hearing this, you might have thought that there aren’t two musical categories that are more objectively different than country music and metal. All That Remains has proven that’s not always the case.
The minor key of the original song lends itself well to the metal genre, which tends to interweave a general sense of foreboding into much of its music.
