There are some events or incidences that change the course of the world and make a mark in history. For instance, the 9/11 attacks in New York city was one of the most shocking and monumental events in recent times. So many people were killed, and a whole nation was stunned by it. It has been deeply embedded in the minds of every American. It has been 16 years since the catastrophic attack took place, but the wounds are still fresh. The cheerleaders in the following video wanted to pay tribute to the victims with this amazing routine.
Usually, cheerleading routines are more lively and uplifting. But this moving cheerleading routine really stood out. It was performed by the cheerleaders at Lumberton High School in Lumberton, Texas. After this performance was uploaded online, it has caused quite a buzz on the internet. This was performed as a tribute to the 9/11 victims on the 14th anniversary of the attacks. The cheerleaders stood in formation, and their moves combined with the background track were amazing.
This particular routine was set to “God Bless the U.S.A.” by Lee Greenwood. There was a twist though. There were some actual snippets from news reporters, phone calls, and witnesses recorded during the 9/11 attacks mixed within with the song. It has got mixed reactions from the viewers; some even went on to call it “tasteless” and “cringe worthy.” While many people are outraged at this routine, many more admired it as well.
