Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel grew up together in the Jewish suburbs of New York. In 1957, inspired by the work of the Everley brothers, they began to perform under the name Tom & Jerry and recorded the single “Hey Schoolgirl”, enjoyed moderate success in a teenage environment.

After this for some time, the way the musicians parted. In 1963, when the musicians graduated from higher education, the interest in folk music brought them together again-now they were recorded and performed under their own names.

Paul Simon wrote music and lyrics while Garfunkel conquered the audience with a tall angelic tenor. A year later the world saw the debut CD of the Duo, “Wednesday Morning, 3 A. M.”.
