After Years Of Silence, Bon Jovi Comes Forward With Confession No On Saw Coming

1205

Jon Bon Jovi has never been shy about his love for his wife, Dorothea. The two met in high school and have been inseparable ever since! From the days of studying for finals to raising a beautiful family together, they’re truly two peas in a pod.

That’s why she took his severe sadness after a recent band problem so seriously. Dorothea knew that she was the only one to break his pain….

Jon admitted that his wife is the person who holds the family together in good times and bad. He told PEOPLE:

“She’s the glue. I’m the crazy visionary with all kinds of things flying, and the seams are all splitting. She’s the one following me with the glue and the thread and needle, keeping it all together.”

This sense of stability came in handy after Jon’s longtime guitarist, Richie Sambora, left the band after 30 years performing together.

In an emotional interview with The Mirror, Jon explained that Richie simply vanished without a trace following a dispute with their record label.

“Everything was great and we were just coming off a break but he never came to work again. None of us have seen him in three and a half years. It was a shock. There was never a fight, there was never an argument…. it certainly wasn’t about money. We were selling out every night, we had a number one album in America that week.”
Richie’s absence caused Jon to fall into an emotional pit! There was no good way to handle the void that Richie left.

Without warning, Jon was left to fill Richie’s place one month into a 10-month world tour! Not only was the band without a guitarist, but he was left without one of his closest friends.

That’s when Jon’s emotional state sunk even lower – thankfully, Dorothea was there to pull him up.

“It was a very, very difficult time that I haven’t fully rebounded from yet but my wife has been phenomenal. Without her, I am not sure how I would have coped.”

Like always, Dorothea was there to pick up the pieces, calm Jon down and help him figure out the next best option. She helped push Jon back into the recording booth during a time in his life where the last thing he wanted to do was play music.

But now the band’s new album is here – the first one without Richie as co-writer – and his fans absolutely adore it.

“This is the… light at the end of the tunnel. Those three years [after Richie left] were tumultuous. Now that the record is released and I’m starting to feel better physically.

A lot of these things added up and a snowflake became an avalanche. I am proud to say I have been with one band my whole life, one record label my whole life and one wife my whole life.”
Without Dorothea’s guidance and steady hand, Jon knows that things could’ve turned out much differently!
